RUSH SPRINGS, Okla. (AP) _ Organizers expected the 62nd annual Watermelon Festival in Rush Springs to draw as many as 30,000 people today to the southwestern Oklahoma town.

The festival began Thursday and continued through tonight. Jean Williams, the wife of the festival's chairman, says about 50,000 pounds of watermelon will be served during the festival.

She says the festival has gone from promoting the watermelon to promoting the town of Rush Springs, which she says is an excellent place to live.
