NORFOLK, Va. (AP) _ Jeff Capel may not feel like he ever left Virginia when he opens his tenure at Oklahoma.

Norfolk State announced its basketball schedule today, and it features the Spartans as the first opponent on the Sooners' slate for this season.

The teams are set to play Friday, November tenth in Norman.

It'll be the first game at Oklahoma for Capel, who left Virginia Commonwealth in April to become the Sooners' coach.

Oklahoma has never played Norfolk State, which competes in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Oklahoma has yet to release its schedule, but the Sooners are also scheduled to play at the Maui Invitational in Hawaii later in November. Their first-round opponent will be Memphis, which made it to the Final Four last season.
