The Fountainhead Resort near Eufaula was "overflowing" with merchandise Thursday as the Creek Nation auctioned off all the old hotel’s equipment and fixtures.

The auction included everything, even the kitchen sink as News on 6 reporter Steve Berg explains.

It's been a while since they packed a room at the Fountainhead Resort. This is probably the old girl's last hurrah. Everything's being auctioned off. "I didn't know all this stuff was here. It's amazing." Creek Nation Chief AD Ellis is also impressed with the size of the crowd. "I think it's going well, Mr. Flood said we're about a third of the way through, so it's going to be an all day deal."

"The size of the crowd is fantastic, it's going great." Auctioneer Louis Dakil is responsible for putting some action in the auction. "Y'know there's an excitement level and you reach that and it's like a roller coaster. You gotta keep them on it, but we try to make it fun for everybody."

Bob Taylor walked away with a walk-in cooler for less than a thousand dollars. "Did real well, real happy, real happy. They still got a bunch more stuff that I gotta get back in there and get."

The building itself is not for sale. The Creek Nation owns that, and they actually plan to bulldoze because it's not worth much.

The view though, that's still worth something. Louis Dakil: "there's probably, only the other hotel or view like this is probably in Branson, Missouri at Big Cedar Lodge, where you see Table Rock Lake. This is one in a million."

Chief Ellis says they still plan on building a new casino on the site and there's a lot of government red tape. "Casino is a long process, and we want to do it right, y'know." The money raised Thursday will give them a jump-start.

Louis Dakil: "Everything sells today. If it doesn't, the bulldozers and the wrecking-ball will take care of it."
