WASHINGTON (AP) _ Former Oklahoma City University pitcher Chris Schroder was called up by the Washington Nationals.
The 27-year-old right-hander got the call to the majors after the Nationals traded pitcher Livan Hernandez to the Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday for two minor leaguers.
Schroder was 2-and-1 with a 1.52 ERA this season for Washington's AAA club in New Orleans.
He's Oklahoma City's career ERA leader with a 2.16 mark for the Stars in 2000 and 2001.
An Okarche ntaive, Schroder began his career at Seminole State Junior College before transferring to Oklahoma City. He's one of two former Stars players in the majors.
All-Star infielder Freddy Sanchez of the Pittsburgh Pirates is the other.
