NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Paul Thompson will be the Oklahoma quarterback and coach Bob Stoops says the team is excited.

Stoops said yesterday the only question was whether Thompson would want to return to quarterback from receiver and that he told Thompson to wait before making a decision.

He says Thompson came back later and said he's ready to be the guy.

The move comes after Stoops kicked Rhett Bomar and JD Quinn off the team for accepting money for work they didn't perform

Stoops says Bomar and Quinn are ``gone for good'' but he would help them find another school if they wish.
