A Muskogee veterinarian accused of de-barking his neighbor's 10-week-old puppy will not lose his medical license.
The state Board of Veterinary Medicine decided to take no action against Dr. James Risch. Dr. Risch admitted in a letter to his neighbor, that he de-barked her dog, but says he thought it was a stray and the dog's barking was like nails on a chalkboard.
The board did impose sanctions on the doctor, but won't reveal what they were.
Dr. Risch says he's getting counseling for his impulsive behavior.
