An investigation is underway into a Tulsa County Sheriff’s deputy involved shooting near Sapulpa. It happened during an interview at 6600 80th West Avenue in Creek County.
Two veteran Tulsa County Sheriff’s deputies went to a home around 3 PM Tuesday to ask questions. The home is in Creek County's jurisdiction, but the two deputies were there as part of an FBI gang task force.
Investigators say during the questioning, a man pulled a knife. One of the deputies fired a shot killing the man.
Tulsa County Undersheriff Brian Edwards: "this was a very dynamic and fast happening situation; it was just over with in a matter of seconds."
No one's commenting on the crime the deputies were investigating. Investigators say they do not believe the man shot was a suspect.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the Creek County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
