Severe weather rumbles across Oklahoma overnight and caused some problems. In Tulsa, the storms produced a downpour and left standing water on a number of roads.
A Tulsa County Sheriff's deputy hydroplaned and bounced from curb to curb on the Broken Arrow Expressway at Utica and knocked off a tire. He was not hurt.
Elsewhere, two workers were hospitalized and five others were injured when strong thunderstorms sparked lightning in a cargo loading area at Oklahoma City's Will Rogers World Airport. Authorities say seven workers at Will Rogers received a strong jolt of electricity when lightning struck cargo loading equipment they were using.
Electrical power was knocked out to thousands of customers in Ponca City and other parts of Kay County Thursday last night as a series of strong thunderstorms produced lightning and heavy rain across northern Oklahoma.
