OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Sweltering heat is continuing to bake Oklahoma, with temperatures Sunday again in the triple-digits.
The Emergency Medical Services Authority responded to nearly 40 heat-related calls in Oklahoma City and Tulsa Saturday as temperatures climbed to 100 degrees.
Temperatures were highest in southwest Oklahoma Saturday, with Lawton reaching 105 degrees and Frederick reporting a daytime high of 104 degrees.
Temperatures on Sunday were expected in the high 90s and low 100s, with a high of 106 forecast for Lawton in southwest Oklahoma.
National Weather Service meteorologist Erin Maxwell says a high-pressure system hovering over Oklahoma and much of the country is expected to keep temperatures in the triple digits through Friday.
