OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A booming economy led by record high energy prices helped Oklahoma collect a record amount of revenue during the fiscal year that ended June 30th.
The state collected $5.7-billion during the year which is an increase of $745-million over last year and is nearly $555-million more than official estimates.
The money is used to pay for state government operations including education, social services, health care, roads and bridges and law enforcement.
State Treasurer Scott Meacham says there were increase in every category, including income taxes, sales taxes and the taxes on oil and natural gas production.
