OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Shannon Miller, who won seven Olympic medals during the 1992 and 1996 games, is divorcing her husband of seven years.

The divorce of the 29-year-old Miller and 33-year-old Christopher Phillips will become official September 7th.

Miller filed for divorce in May 2004 in Massachusetts, where the Edmond native and Phillips has lived. Disputes over money caused the case to last for more than two years.

The couple was married in June 1999 in a lavish ceremony in Oklahoma City that featured many of Miller's teammates from the 1996 U-S squad that won the team gold medal in the Atlanta Games.

Phillips, an eye surgeon, alleges that Miller had an affair with a married male athlete and that she threatened to accuse him of abusing prescription drugs if he didn't acquiesce to her demands during the divorce proceedings.

Miller denied those accusations.

She says that she has chosen to be happy by, quote, ``leaving this painful experience in the past'' and that she hopes Phillips will be able to move on as well.
