SALLISAW, Okla. (AP) -- Federal investigators are looking into allegations that a jailer assaulted a prisoner at the Sequoyah County Jail in Sallisaw.
District Attorney Richard Gray says the FBI is looking into the beating of 39-year-old Donald Gene Allen of Muldrow. The jailer was suspended without pay June 25th.
Gray says he doesn't know the circumstances behind the alleged beating, but that Sequoyah County Associate District Judge Dennis Sprouse asked for the investigation.
Allen reportedly suffered several broken facial bones during the altercation.
