OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Lawton native Mike Minter has been inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame.
Minter, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound safety, earned four letters between 1993 and 1996, playing on teams that won 47 games and lost three.
A redshirt in 1992, Minter went on to gain second team all Big-Eight honors in 1993 and 1995. He was a first team All Big 12 pick in 1996, his senior year. Mike was captain in 1996 and played in three Orange Bowls, one Fiesta Bowl and in the Senior Bowl.
The Huskers gained back-to-back national championships in 1994 and 1995. Minter finished his Cornhusker career with 134 tackles and seven interceptions.
Minter was a 1997 NFL pick by the Carolina Panthers and has been with the team ever since.
