OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ First-round draft picks Hilton Armstrong and Cedric Simmons will join Kirk Snyder and Brandon Bass on the New Orleans Hornets' summer-league team.
Marcus Fizer, a former first-round draft pick who signed two 10-day contracts with the Hornets at the end of last season, will also play for the Hornets' summer league team, which begins practice today in Las Vegas.
Guard J-R Smith had been expected to be on the team despite a falling out with coach Byron Scott but was not on the roster.
The Hornets will play the Sacramento Kings, Denver Nuggets, Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers before concluding their five-game schedule against the Minnesota Timberwolves on July 14th.
