The city pool in one Tulsa County community is high and dry.

The aging city pool in Collinsville is closed because of major mechanical and structural problems. Engineers found a dozen areas of serious concern.

Even though the pool is closed, Collinsville could get a much larger pool in the future. Vision 2025 funds paid for a master plan for the park, but there is not enough money to pay for the $1.8-million pool and splash area. Mayor Stan Sallee: "It would be a tremendous draw to this region. And we think Why not in Collinsville? We deserve it. And as long as we can fund it and the community wants it. Then we should try to get what the community wants."

Paying for the project could be a challenge. The most likely source would be part of a larger capitol improvement bond issue.
