BIG TIMBER, Mont. (AP) _ A federal investigator says an Oklahoma pilot was instructing a Montana man when their plane crashed in Montana and killed both men.

Pilot Jason Barton of Yukon and Montana rancher Jeffrey Harbers were killed Saturday afternoon when the plane crashed and burned shortly after take-off in Big Timber, Montana.

National Transportation Safety Board investigator James Struhsaker says Barton was instructing Harbers but officials don't know who was piloting the plane when it went down.
