STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ A team from the University of Wisconsin-Madison wins its fourth straight title in the National Concrete Canoe Competition.
Wisconsin's 21-foot-long, 162-pound natural gray canoe, named ``Forward,'' bested 22 other entries from engineering schools in the U-S and Canada. The competition is sponsored by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
The teams had to put their boats through aesthetic, presentation and swamping tests on Thursday, with technical presentations Friday and a series of races yesterday on Boomer Lake.
Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo finished second, followed by Clemson, California-Berkeley and Michigan Tech.
Oklahoma State University finished 11th, while the University of Oklahoma was 16th.
