The roads were deadly over the Memorial Day weekend.

To help keep people safe, Tulsa Police's motorcycle squad and traffic squads hit the streets to make sure drivers were buckling up and driving the speed limit.

One area they patrolled was 71st Street between Highway 169 and Memorial, writing $20 tickets to anyone who wasn't buckled up.

Tulsa Police officer Jim Barry: "They actually thank me before they leave even though they may have a $20 citation in their hand for not wearing it, they say, you know, I only have one life. I certainly don't want to lose it out there on the streets."
