The annual Beef Council blood drive and cookout was held Friday.
Everyone who donated blood recieved a free hot dog, T-Shirt, two Redhawks tickets, plus a chance to win a number of prizes, including a Caribbean Cruise.
The Oklahoma Blood Institute says blood donations this time of year are critical, because supplies are running low. OBI manager Vickie Holkum: "You can give blood and when you give blood you are just making sure that it's going to be on the shelf for you, your friends and your loved ones.â€
More than 1,200 units of blood were used last Memorial Day weekend. The OBI says they have less blood on hand than they did last year.
