Environmental officials have issued an Ozone Alert Day for today in Tulsa.

Calm, hot conditions are expected to be ripe for ozone pollution, or smog.

Officials encourage residents to ride the bus or carpool, gas up vehicles only in the evening, avoid unnecessary trips and avoid using two-cycle gas-powered devices such as lawn mowers.

Today is the first Ozone Alert Day of this year for Tulsa.
