OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ State regulators have given the green light to Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company's plan to build a windfarm in northwest Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Corporation Commission unanimously approved the 200 million-dollar project yesterday.
Their approval clears the way for construction to begin within the next several weeks.
The 120-megawatt facility will more than triple the state's largest utility's renewable energy offerings. OG&E buys electricity from a 51-megawatt windfarm also in the Woodward area.
Unlike the state's other wind projects, OG&E plans to own and operate the Centennial Wind Energy Project.
