OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahomans would decide whether package liquor stores could stay open on election day under legislation that was narrowly passes by the state House.
The measure calls for a statewide vote on whether citizens could buy a bottle of their favorite wine or liquor when the polls are still open. Current law bans liquor sales on all election days until the polls close at 7 PM. By law, retailers must close by 9 PM.
Liquor sales would still be banned on Sunday and six national holidays.
