OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Cooler temperatures and lighter winds help firefighters gain control of a series of wildfires that have raged across Oklahoma in the past few days.

Fire officials received no reports of injuries or structural damage with the blazes Thursday, although a couple of homes and several outbuildings were destroyed in fires on Wednesday. Some of the fires began burning at the beginning of the week.

Fire information officer Anna Payne say a blaze in Canadian County that began Sunday was brought under control. That fire charred about 2,600 acres.

Crews also gained control of a fire that scorched about 200 acres six miles west of Bartlesville and one that burned about 500 acres in Pottawatomie County.

On Wednesday, temperatures climbed into the 70s and 80s and south winds howled at 15 to 25 miles per hour with higher gusts. Two houses, numerous fences and some vehicles were damaged.

Oklahoma City fire officials say a house, an empty mobile home and some outbuildings were destroyed in Wednesday's fire.
