Starting Monday, the Tulsa Fire Department will have some extra hands to help out.
35 new firefighters graduated Friday afternoon from the Tulsa Fire Training Academy, in a ceremony at the Civic Center.
The cadets went through 16 weeks of training to earn the badges that come with the job. Tulsa Fire Chief Allen LeCroix: "When that 16 weeks is over, you're ready to go to work and do what you're hired to do."
And they'll start work next week, bringing the department to full staffing for the first time in two years.
The next academy class of 25 starts in July.
