OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A man accused of taking several hostages at an Oklahoma City bank is safely taken into custody, and all the hostages are safe.

The FBI says the 20-year-old Texas man entered the bank just after 2 PM Wednesday and took several bank employees hostage.

The hostages were released over two hours, and the man was taken into custody around 4 PM.

FBI spokesman Gary Johnson says all the hostages are in good condition.

Police identified the man as John Philip Saldana of San Antonio. Oklahoma City police Captain Jeff Becker says Saldana was treated at a hospital for several self-inflicted cuts on his forearms.

Saldana was then booked into the Oklahoma County jail on felony complaints of kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and pointing a firearm.

Becker says there's no indication that robbery was the motive. He says the man cooperated with police negotiators and exited the bank peacefully.
