WASHINGTON (AP) People looking for a new vacation spot might try one of 12 unusual places, all reachable without a passport -- such as Bartlesville.
The suggestion comes from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Each year since 2000, the trust has named a ``Dozen Distinctive Destinations'' appealing to tourist affinities for historic places.
The 2006 list includes Bartlesville. The report cites the city as a unique town that prides itself on rich culture and tradition.
Some of the other cities on the list are West Chester, Pennsylvania; Bowling Green, Kentucky; Prescott, Arizona; Monterey, California; and Saranac Lake, New York.
