OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- High school students might want to brush up on their math skills if they hope to get their driver's license before the age of 18.

A bill won passage Monday in the state Senate that would require students younger than 18 to grasp 8th-grade math before getting a driver's license.

Senator Susan Paddack wrote Senate Bill 1792. The bill heads to the state House now, where a similar bill was passed by a state House panel last week.

Students must already show they can read 8th-grade material to get a driver's license.
