The victim of a vicious parking lot robbery decides she's going to get a gun, so next time, she can fight back. Rosetta was knocked down and kicked in the face and chest inside her gated apartment complex in south Tulsa on Thursday night. The News On 6's crime reporter Lori Fullbright reports Rosetta had just arrived home from her home health job when three men attacked her.
The assault left her with stitches on her elbow, bruises everywhere and a big black eye. The good news is police may now have the suspects in custody.
"The worst part of it is, I just remember them kicking me and kicking me," said Rosetta.
Rosetta lived in New York for 40 years and was never mugged. She's lived in Tulsa for one year and now, she's been a victim. Her first thought was to move back, but then anger set in and she decided to stay put in her new home.
"I like living here and I'll be damned if I let the bastards run me out of here. It's exactly how I feel," said Rosetta.
Rosetta had just gotten off work when the men knocked her down, kicked her and grabbed her purse. She fought back and screamed so loudly her neighbors heard her.
"Her husband came running out and his neighbor upstairs, screaming at them. To me, they are super heroes," said Rosetta.
Tulsa police arrested Jeremy Glazier and Donny Drew on Sunday night. They say a woman had just been robbed in a parking lot and they had some of her stuff in their pockets. They believe they might've been involved in Rosetta's attack. They also arrested Evan Eaton and Vincent Berry on Saturday night. They are suspected in some parking lot robberies. And, Terrell Howard and Kelvin Fields were arrested for robberies that happened in southwest Tulsa. Rosetta says only one punishment would suit her.
"What would give me more pleasure is if someone would knock them down and kick them like they did me. What if somebody did that to their mother?" asks Rosetta.
Rosetta already has pepper spray on her key chain and plans to get a gun, so she'll be ready the next time. Police hope the six arrests will make things safer.
