Millions of dollars could soon be made available to pay for a buyout in the Tar Creek Superfund site. The federal government is in the middle of a $50 million buyout of homes in Ottawa County. It stalled in December when federal money ran out.
But a committee met Tuesday to give residents an update on how a $30 million shortfall might be made up.
About $3 million would come from funds that previously had been restricted to demolition and cleanup work and about $6 million would be new money allocated for the project.
