PSO had restored power to all but a few hundred customers Friday morning.  The problem now is many homes have damage that prevents them from getting that power.  That is where people like Joe Duvall comes in.  He is one of dozens of volunteers taking part in the city's "Operation Power Up."

Low-income residents who call the "Operation Power Up" hotline can get an electrician to come their home and repair the damage to their electrical system and the city will pay for it.  Duvall says he and his crew are doing about 30 of these jobs a day.

The "Operation Power Up" hotline is 866-789-8898.  The number is staffed 7 am to 7 pm daily.

PSO is also giving $250,000 to five counties in northeast Oklahoma.  The money will be used to help low-income residents fix up their properties.  The Salvation Army will distribute the money.

In addition, there was progress Friday for customers without power in Verdigris Valley Electric's coverage area.  The News On 6 was told there were 750 customers without service but the number of utility crews working to restore service had grown to nearly 800.

VVEC officials said they hoped to have service restored to everyone by Sunday.
