1 c. sugar3/4 c. shortening 1 egg 1/4 c. molasses 2 c. flour 1 tbsp. ground ginger 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, cream the sugar and shortening well. Beat in the egg and molasses. Next, add the flour, ginger, soda, cinnamon and salt; blend well. Form about a teaspoon of dough into small balls by rolling lightly between palms of hands. Roll dough balls in granulated sugar to cover entire surface. Place balls 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
