Muskogee County area firefighters responded to a fire in Webbers Falls.
According to the Muskogee County Commissioner, two buildings which house equipment for the Webbers Falls Fire Department have caught fire. One of those buildings is a total loss.
"There's a lot of stuff in there that cannot be replaced. There's a lot of stuff that can be. Nobody was hurt," said Fire Chief Shawn Smith.
Officials said two boats, two grass rigs, and some bunker gear have been destroyed.
"I've got a million things, inventory, everything we've lost, what we've got to account for, and what all was in there. This was our second home," Smith said.
Muskogee County Commissioner Stephen Wright estimates the loss to be around $300,000.
"It's devastating. EODD was here while they are still here, and they are trying to get equipment right now to help them through this. They've already contacted the state fire marshal," Wright said.
The second building, which houses two engines and a rescue truck remains unaffected.
"We are just a tough community. We get hit all the time it seems like and we always bounce back, so it's just another day," Smith said. "We are a family. We are just a family, one big family."
