Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt helped the Utah Jazz secure hotel rooms Wednesday night after the game was canceled.
He said despite the presumptive positive test of another Jazz player at the arena with thousands in attendance, there is still no evidence of a community spread in Oklahoma.
Meanwhile, a number of public events are being canceled.
The Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center has postponed all events related to its grand opening set for this weekend.
The First Friday event in the Paseo has also been canceled.
The City will take a wait and see approach on other events before taking action like revoking a permit.
“Everything that comes to mind with the big events are in April, Festival of the Arts, Red Bud the Memorial Marathon. We are just a little more focused on the near term right now,” said Holt.
Holt said the City continues to work with both county and state health officials.
He reminds people to control what you can control and don't worry about things that don't affect you.
Holt said the City is also on hand to offer advice to business leaders and event planners about whether their events should be canceled in the wake of COVID-19.
