Norman residents can expect salons and more businesses to close their doors by Monday.
On Sunday, Norman Mayor Breea Clark announced the adjustments to her emergency declaration. The adjustments include mandating beauty and nail salons, barber shops, health clubs and spas to shut down temporarily.
The closures are set to start at 5 p.m. At that time the city will also start requiring businesses that are still open, including grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations, to establish a way to enforce a minimum of 6 ft. between customers in lines. The change is to make sure businesses are helping visitors follow the CDC's recommendations for social distancing.
"I encourage you all who regularly have these appointments to get your hair or nails done go ahead and pre-pay for your next appointment, so we can help our businesses through this tough time," said Mayor Clark.
The city is already restricting organized community gatherings, allowing no more than 10 people.
These changes will be in place through at least April 3.
