There are currently 1,159 positive cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and 42 reported deaths from the virus in Oklahoma. There are confirmed COVID-19 cases in 56 of Oklahoma’s 77 counties.
Doctors said that they do not believe we have hit the peak of the coronavirus statewide.
While health care professionals prepare for the peak, Governor Kevin Stitt is also working to boost a new volunteer initiative.
Stitt launched the “Ready. Help. Go.” program on Saturday.
There are three phases to “Ready. Help. Go.” The first phase is simply signing up and getting ready. Interested volunteers can sign up at readyhelpgo.org.
The state will then decide where skills and abilities need to be taken across the state based on need.
Stitt said that they won’t mobilize anyone to go anywhere until it is safe to do so.
