“We are settling into our new normal,” said Holt. “We are moving past grief into acceptance and hopefully into the recovery.”

Holt has extended the stay at home order for Oklahoma City until April 30.

“We don’t know how long this will last it could very well go past April 30^th,” said Holt.

He said he hopes that people grasp how things are changing out of state and city.

“The reality can sometimes seem abstract, the deaths are merely a number,” said Holt. “But I assure you every one of the 18 people who died across the OKC metro this past week had a family who loved them and had plans just like you.”

Holt said it is up to the public to stop the spread of COVID-19 to keep the number of positive cases down.
