More than half of Americans will not visit a dentist this year. Financial burdens, lack of access and several other obstacles keep millions of individuals from proper oral health. And now, with limited due to precautions taken to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, locally owned dental group Dental Depot is working hard to ensure essential dental care is provided to those most in need.

Dental Depot founder, Dr. Glenn Ashmore, has always been committed to providing much needed dental services to our community. That commitment includes hosting many events over the years aimed at improving the oral health of individuals who otherwise may be forced to forego dental care.

Even during a global pandemic, the staff at Dental Depot will continue to provide care to individuals with dental emergencies. For the safety of both staff and patients, treatment is limited to only dentistry that is deemed urgent or essential until April 30th. That includes care for patients who are in severe pain or at risk of an infection. Not only is the goal to provide relief and improved oral health to those patients, but also to keep them out of crowded hospital emergency rooms to help relieve the burden on healthcare workers.

Some examples of the dentistry being provided at this time include emergencies like uncontrolled bleeding, infections, and trauma involving facial bones that could potentially compromise airflow. Additionally, patients will be seen for urgent care needs, including knocked out or loose teeth, cracked teeth, severe dental pain from infections or inflammation, abscesses, and extensive cavities causing pain.

Dental Depot has steadily expanded to ensure that all Oklahomans have access to affordable, professional and friendly dental service. Their newest location in Tulsa Hills brings them to five locations in the Tulsa metro area, and 23 total.

Despite the growth over the years, the Dental Depot’s culture and focus remains the same.

“We remain dedicated to preserving our ties to the communities we live and work in, and to treating your family as a part of our own,” Ashmore said.

Patients of all ages are welcome, and Dental Depot accepts most major insurances, including SoonerCare.
