Westville Educator Honored As 'Impactful Teacher'

Lisa Williams is a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Westville Elementary and she is News On 6's Impactful Teacher for the month of May.

Lisa has been teaching Pre-K at Westville her whole 17 year career.

She was nominated for this by multiple people, including family and parents of students.

They said the moment the COVID-19 closures began, Lisa created a Facebook group for her students to keep everyone connected and educated.

"I grew up in this community, and it gave a lot to me. And the reason I do this is I want to give back to this community. We live in the area, and teachers can make a difference. And if we can teach these kids to love learning, they'll go on and be successful in life" said Lisa.  

Lisa Williams is this school year's final Impactful Teacher.
