Friday is the start of Phase 2 of Governor Stitt's plan to reopen businesses statewide.

Bars are reopening and weddings and funerals can resume.

Tulsa County leaders said COVID-19 cases are trending downward, allowing us to move on to the next phase.

In a news conference Thursday, Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum and other city and county leaders discussed the particulars of Phase 2.

The city's updated civil emergency order allows groups of 50 or less to gather and the city will start issuing special event permits for events with less than 50 people.

The city said bars will be allowed to open Friday if they keep a reduced capacity based on a 36 square feet per person distance and weddings and funerals can proceed with 50 person limits.

People over 75 and those with underlying medical conditions are still encouraged to stay home.
