Tulsa County Man Accused Of Shooting With Intent To Kill

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says a man was arrested after they say he shot the back window of a car because he thought the people inside were stealing a lawnmower.

The lawnmower was parked in the middle of the street outside the home of Samuel Bates near 121st Street North and 129th East Avenue. Bates claims he thought a group of people was trying to steal it so he shot at them as they ran toward their car hitting the back window.

The victims claim they were driving down the road when then almost hit the lawnmower and were trying to find it's the owner. One victim was sitting in the car during the shooting and was cut by the broken glass.

Samuel Bates is being held on one count of Shooting with Intent to Kill.
