Oral Roberts University announced Wednesday that it will hold in-person classes in the coming Fall semester.
However, officials said the university will have a revised semester schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
ORU stated in a news release that fall classes will still begin on August 13th, but will now end on November 24th, which is before the Thanksgiving holiday.
Officials said there will only be three days off during the semester and there will be no fall break.
According to ORU, the three days off are Sept. 7th, Oct. 12th, and Nov. 3rd.
“While it is unusual to think about a fall semester without a fall break, we believe these three ‘one day off’ moments will be valuable,” said ORU President Dr. William M. Wilson. “Our goal is to keep our students safe by preventing travel and ultimately decreasing possible exposure to COVID-19.”
ORU also stated that its Health and Safety Task Force is developing plans for safely reopening.
