The Tulsa Public Schools Board of Education approved a new calendar for the 2020-2021 school year with safety measures in place.

The school year will begin on August 31 and end on June 8, 2021.

In a statement, TPS Superintendent Deborah A. Gist said, “Nothing is more important than keeping our students, team members, and families safe, and you will see some new safety measures in the 2020-2021 school year."

TPS said it will continue to work with community members and partners to support families.

The district plans for various options to be available for students and families, including learning in-person, a mix of in-person and distance learning, and distance-only learning. TPS is also planning to offer a virtual school option called TPS Virtual Academy.
