Tulsa Police Officer Remains In Hospital After Being Shot, Fighting For His Life

One of two police officers shot early Monday morning during a traffic stop remains in a Tulsa hospital while fighting for his life.

Officer Aurash Zarkeshan is said to be improving. The Associated Press reported that Tulsa Police Captain Richard Meulenberg told them Zarkeshan's health has slightly improved and he is responding to doctor commands.

Zarkeshan's brother has been posting on Facebook about the officer's conditon. He said Zarkeshan has been able to wiggle his toes and fingers. He said the gunshot exited behind Zarkeshan's right ear and the swelling is being maintained.

The other officer involved, Sergeant Craig Johnson died some time after emergency surgery following the shooting.
