The Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office said they are starting a recovery search effort for Donald Lee Walters, who went missing July 10.

OCSO said they will be searching an area known as “Hoffman Bottoms” near Henryetta July 20 sometime after 9 a.m. The area is also located near Deep Fork River near Highway 266.

OCSO said they requested Wagoner County Emergency Management to assist in the search because they have an air boat.

Walters was reported missing from Great Bend, Kansas and is known to suffer from Alzheimer’s disease. His vehicle was located near the Okmulgee and McIntosh County line east of Henryetta near the Eufala Wildlife Management area, OCSO said.

Walters was believed to be on foot in that area.
