The Tulsa Fire Department says an extensive search to find a missing person on Turkey mountain has been called off.
Jon Steiner, a district chief with Tulsa Fire says they got a call just before 8:30 last night from a jogger saying he heard cries of help from a female. He says the search was a joint effort by Tulsa Police, Fire, and EMSA and that it's difficult to search due to the darkness and the difficult terrain. Steiner says he belives no one was out there.
"To the best of our ability we searched everything we could search, we did not find anybody. We're going to leave into the police hands for now," said Steiner.
Officials want to remind everyone to let people know where you are going, carry your cell phone, and don't go out in a difficult area after dark.
