Woman Hospitalized After Fiery Crash Near Turkey Mountain

Tulsa Police have shut down West 61st Street east of Highway 75 after a fiery overnight crash that sent a woman to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the woman was coming around the curve when she went off the road and hit a few rocks. She was thrown from the car before it caught on fire, police said.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and quickly put out the flames.

It’s not clear what caused her to go off the road, but this is an area where police say they’ve worked many accidents.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area while crews work the scene.
