Music Store Using Textbook Covers For Modify Instruments

A local music store is working to help band students practice and play safely.

Saied Music is re-purposing polyester textbook covers, to cover the bell on many of the wind instruments.

"By covering the bell of instruments, it dramatically reduces the aerosol emissions while playing,” said Kim Koch of Saied Music

Saied Music has sanitizer to clean the instruments in between uses, and special tags for the instruments they're repairing and leasing to show they've been cleaned.

Saied also hired a local manufacturer to make shields just for flutes.
