Washington County Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing Child

Washington County prosecutors have charged a man with sexually abusing and raping a preteen child that he knows.

Court documents say the victim told her mother James E. Barcus abused her multiple times for more than 5 years. Investigators say Barcus initially denied doing anything to the girl, but admitted to having sexual desires for her after failing a polygraph exam.

Barcus is was booked into jail by the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
