On Thursday, the city of Collinsville held a ribbon cutting for its new Refuge Community Center.
The center will serve as a safe and supervised after-school program for teens in the Collinsville and Owasso area. It will offer tutoring, entertainment and free snacks.
"We're really excited to see the kids come in and have a place in their community to come and to learn, be tutored and be loved by people who love them loved by their community so they can go out and make a difference for other people as well,” Kristian Stitt from Refuge said.
Teens in middle school and high school are welcome.
Organizers said they're following similar guidelines to Collinsville Public Schools, including wearing masks and doing extra cleaning.
