A Tulsa law firm wanted to do something good and help students prepare for the new school year.

Graves McLain donated free backpacks filled with school supplies to students, helping nearly 2,000 kids at five different elementary schools this year.

The law firm said the average family spends more than $100 per child on school supllies. They hope the donations will ease the burden on some Tulsa families.

“Most of the kids and schools we go to, if we didn't give them these backpacks, they wouldn't have a backpack or a backpack from 3-4 years ago, so it feels good for us to do this service for the community,” attorney Chad McLain said.

This is the fifth year Graves McLain has held the event.
